Ryan Duggan
Forest School Teacher
Ryan joined our Merrohawke teaching team this spring, just as he was finishing his Masters in Environmental Education at Antioch University. Before this, his background included studying Natural Resources Conservation and Environmental Science at Essex Tech, North Shore Community College, and UMass Amherst. Previously, he has mainly worked as a park ranger at Endicott Park where he helped to manage park grounds, care for barn animals, and educate the public. His work at Endicott Park also included authoring and publishing a children’s book titled A Day at Endicott Park. In addition to this experience, he has worked in the Saugus Public Schools as a math enrichment specialist for grades 2-5, and at Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site as an interpretive park ranger doing programs, blacksmithing demonstrations, and tours. Ryan is a currently certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR). Ryan enjoys spending time in and with the outdoors, specifically through activities like walks, hikes, gardening, beekeeping, nature crafts, and land stewardship. He also enjoys reading, writing, crafting, archery, board games, and baking.
