Imagine sleeping under stars, listening to the gulls beckon before dawn, watching thunderstorms approach from the mainland and swoosh overheard, lounging in rocking chairs on the historic Oceanic hotel porch and taking in a sweeping coastal view, tidepooling, singing fireside songs by the rising tide, adventuring below a spooky crescent moon on a night hike, and soaking in some rich and salty history as we swap pirate and ghostly tales of these historic islands.

With a small group of teens we have come to know through the years, we'll spend two days aboard the F/V Erica Lee and then depart on a Portsmouth ferry Wednesday morning to sleep overnight for two nights and three days in tents on Star Island, including a visit the Shoals Marine Lab on Appledore. We are the only youth group given permission to camp on these islands, and we are so grateful to be able to spend a few days on Star Island with our teens.

*Teens aged 13 to 15 -- who have attended at least two Merrohawke program weeks -- are welcome.
Group is limited to 14 teens.
